The holy city of Qom witnesses the influx of hundreds of thousands of pilgrims to celebrate the arrival anniversary of lady Fatima al-Ma’suma, peace be upon her, to Qom.
The lovers of Ahlulbait revive the anniversary by carrying flowers and roses and heading towards to the holy shrine of lady Fatima al-Ma’suma, peace be upon her, as a sign of paying attribute. The lovers of Ahlulbait, peace be upon them also take part in different rituals related to the revival of the anniversary. Ritualistic processions also take part in the revival of the anniversary by reciting poems and taking part in the rituals related to the anniversary. Lady Faṭima bt. Mūsā b. Jaʿfar, well known as Fatima al-Ma’suma, peace be upon her, is the daughter of Imam al-Kadhim and sister of Imam al-Rida, peace be upon them. In 201/816, she traveled to Iran to visit her brother, Imam al-Rida, peace be upon him, in Tus. However, she passed away in the middle of the way due to an illness and was buried in the holy city of Qom.
